Here’s the big news – I’ve FINALLY launched the podcast I’ve been dreaming about doing for the last 2 and a half years! If you follow me on Instagram you’ll already know since I’ve been bombarding my stories and grid with photos of microphones and me looking uncomfortable in oversized headphones, but you may be wondering what all the fuss is about and why I’m such a podcast advocate. Truth is, I really believe they can save your sanity…Continue reading “HOW TO SAVE YOUR SANITY THROUGH PODCASTS…”
I usually shy away from creating lists and even more so from book lists because often I’m acutely aware of being behind when it comes to my choices. I don’t have good ‘new book’ radar, I’m not at the forefront of the trends, bestsellers or book prizes, I just tend to save the interesting titles I hear people talking about. Looking for something new to read in 2023? OK, here goes…Continue reading “25 BOOKS I’M READING THIS YEAR…”
“It is from the empty spaces that the future begins in moments of creative insight, where our world is re-patterned in an instant: where we are no longer able to think what we thought before and where we see a new way of leaping forward. You are now here.”
This landed in my inbox this week from NoWhere Group. Isn’t it beautiful?Continue reading “STOP FILLING YOUR TIME, CREATIVITY NEEDS SPACE TO SHINE…”
I have to tell you something. I’m in love with professional trouble-makers. Not the hooligan kind that disturbs and disrupts maliciously, solely for their own entertainment. No, I’m talking about the good guys, the rebels leading with kick-ass kindness who are changing the game for the rest of us…Continue reading “WHY I LOVE PROFESSIONAL TROUBLE-MAKERS…”
I’d heard that it all comes down to ‘just deciding’ many times. Decide you want things to be different and make it so. Choose who you need to become to achieve your goal then be that person. Decide how you’re going to change things up and then do it. As if it’s ever going to be that easy, right?!Continue reading “MAKE IT A PART OF WHO YOU ARE”
If you relish the stories of powerful brands; if you enjoy cheering for the underdog; and if you love the idea that playful disruption and a sense of fun can change the world of business for good, you MUST read this book!Continue reading “VIRGIN BY DESIGN…”
How about you ditch finding your purpose and learn to embrace your many talents and interests because that is absolutely what makes you, YOU?!
I have a frustration and I’d like to share it with you; I’m a grown woman who cannot label herself. In the past I would take on my job titles – I think that’s what society expects isn’t it? – and with that I became a…Continue reading “STOP TRYING TO FIND YOUR ONE THING…”
I sure don’t.
But for some reason I can’t explain, over the last few years of soul-searching, of looking for a purpose and trying to make sense of who I am, I keep coming back to this one word: MISCHIEF.Continue reading “DO YOU MAKE (ENOUGH) MISCHIEF?!”
…AND YOU GET TO CHOOSE THE COLOURS.
The shading is up to you, the marks you leave are your legacy so what are you going to do with it? We don’t need to be artists to create a work of art. We don’t need to label ourselves creative in order to pick up the paintbrush. We just need to wake up and realise that every day when the sun comes up, we get another blank canvas to play with and another shot at making life epic.Continue reading “LIFE IS A BLANK CANVAS…”
Unlike many creatives I know, I can’t claim to have come from an unsupportive family. Thankfully, that does not form part of my story at all: quite the opposite in fact. My parents were always encouraging when it came to my creativity and looking back, my future path was set from a very young age. I do remember short stints of wanting to be a paramedic, (having engrossed myself in episodes of Saturday night TV drama ‘Casualty’) and also an archeologist, thanks to a fossil project that piqued my interest at middle school. But with the exception of these 2 ideas, the rest of my childhood and early adulthood believed firmly that my destiny would be a creative one. There really wasn’t any other choice. Where else would I possibly fit when I spent all my free time drawing, colouring, making and creating?Continue reading “SHOE REBELS AND LEATHER ROGUES”
